Georgian Town House, Brighton
Grade II listed building, restoration, renovation and refurbishment.
This house, dating from 1790, had become a run down guest house. It took two years of work before the house was habitable, requiring listed building consent and building control approval. The more recent and out of character additions (en suites, kitchen extension) that had been added twenty years ago to convert this house into a hotel, were all removed. The original layouts and functions were restored, with the creation of an outside courtyard. The  new layout, with kitchen in the basement, dining room on the ground floor, living room and library on the first floor, bedrooms on the floors above all work really well and give flexibility and ease of use.
